Program outcome (NEP Semester System)

 

A course in B.A Political Science (Major and Multidisciplinary) have been structured in a way that it not only introduces the students to the vast canvas of subjects that concern the discipline of political science but also sharpens their research aptitude, enhances their skills and visions and motivate them for further studies and employability.

 

PO1- EFFECTIVE CITIZENSHIP:

The course curriculum inculcates among students a basic understanding of the rights and   duties of citizenship and thereby to act as responsible citizens through the observation of important days such as   independence day, constitution day, national voter’s day and also spreading awareness in society through regular conversations on specific socio political issues such as domestic violence, gender inequality etc. the program helps the student to become informed, aware and responsible citizens.

PO2- ENHANCED COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

By building linkages between academics and civil society at large the program tries to familiarize the students with pertinent socio-political issues. the fortnightly wall journal is a means for keeping the entire student   population up to date with political occurrences both global and domestic. debates, seminars and panel   discussions are also regularly organised on relevant themes to help the students to structure their thoughts and opinions and express their ideas with others. Such interactive sessions provide them further opportunities to sharpen their oratory skills, coordinate their reasoning and debating proficiency and enhance their communication skills.

 PO3 - POLITICAL SCIENCE AND SOCIETY:

This program increases the understanding the inter relationship between policy decisions and its effects on   society. This is achieved through a comprehensive teaching of the practice of public administration, public policy and governance in India. 

PO4- CRITICAL THINKING:

The ability to analyse and predict socio political phenomena based on the study of existing   socio- economic determinants and past experiences. The courses are not only structured to impart received knowledge but also encourage the student to think critically and raise questions which can contribute to a new understanding and explanation.
