With a view to gradually introducing the science subjects into our college, we offered Mathematics as a general subject with several Honours subjects from the session 2015 -2016. The subject (Mathematics), taken with either Geography or Economics, enables a student to get a B.Sc. Degree. Before introducing NEP into our Academic Curriculum, Mathematics can be chosen with the subjects like Geography, Sociology, Economics, English, Political Science, Journalism and Mass Communication, Education, Music etc. But in NEP 2020 system either a student having Geography subject (Major) can take Mathematics as Minor subject or a student with Three Year Multi-Disciplinary Programme (B.Sc.) can take Mathematics as one of the subjects. The Department of Mathematics at present has one and only very competent and efficient teacher Dr. Abhirup Datta with ten (10) years of experience in Netaji Satabarshiki Mahavidyalaya, Ashoknagar, North 24 Parganas.
