Netaji Satabarshiki Mahavidyalaya collaborated with the Departments of Philosophy and Bengali Language & Literature (UG & PG) of Uluberia College to organise a One-Day National Seminar on "Sahajiya Buddhist Philosophy and the Literary Heritage of Bengalis" on 17th February 2026 at the Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar Auditorium, Uluberia College, with the support of IQAC, Uluberia College. The seminar featured eminent scholars, including Professor Dipayan Patnaik from Jadavpur University, who spoke on the influence of Shunyavada on Bengali culture, and Professor Suman Goon from Assam University, who explored the multiple dimensions of Buddhist philosophy in Bengali literature. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Basanti Bhattacharya, Head of the Bengali Department, Uluberia College, with the welcome speech by Dr. Lipika Mongal, Principal, Uluberia College, and the introductory address by Smt. Basudhha Biswas, Head of the Bengali Department, Netaji Satabarshiki Mahavidyalaya. The seminar also included presentation of research papers and an engaging speaker-audience dialogue session, making it a rich academic exchange on this significant theme at the intersection of philosophy and literary tradition.
